Care & Use

Use Appropriate Utensils:
Use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils to avoid scratching the ceramic surface. Metal utensils can be used safely, however avoid those with sharp edges, which can damage the non-stick ceramic coating.

Cooking on Medium to Low Heat:
Gotham Steel ceramic cookware performs best on medium to low heat. High heat can cause food to stick and may damage the coating over time.

Avoid Thermal Shock:
Do not expose hot ceramic cookware to cold water or place it directly from the refrigerator onto a hot stove. This can cause the ceramic to crack due to thermal shock.

Cleaning After Use:
Allow your Gotham Steel ceramic cookware to cool before washing. Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth to clean the surface. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and harsh cleaning agents that can scratch or damage the ceramic coating.

Removing Stubborn Residue:
For tough, burnt-on food, soak the cookware in warm, soapy water for 15-20 minutes before gently scrubbing. Baking soda can also be used as a gentle abrasive to help remove stubborn residue.

Induction base discoloration:
Discoloration of the stainless steel induction plate is common to all stainless steel and can be removed with appropriate stainless steel cleaning agents, however the cosmetic discoloration does not affect the functionality of the induction base.

Dishwasher Safety:
While our ceramic cookware is generally dishwasher safe, hand washing is our recommendation to maintain the integrity of the non-stick coating and extend the life of the cookware.

Avoiding Stacking:
If you need to stack your ceramic cookware, place a soft cloth or paper towel between each piece to prevent scratches and chipping.

Proper Storage:
Store Gotham Steel ceramic cookware in a cool, dry place. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the cookware to prevent cracking or chipping.

This was a replacement from the set we already have.

This was a great way to replace the older pots and pans we already had.

Not satisfied with product

I purchased the 10 piece Gotham steel pro set over a year ago. It worked okay at first but for more than eight months things stick to them especially when cooking eggs in the skillet. I will be getting rid them and purchasing something different. I had recommended them to my daughter soon after my purchase so she purchased a set and had the same problems. I do not recommend Gotham steel.

Induction

I got a set that states on the box they will work on an induction stove. Just one out of the 8 works? Why is that? I love the one that works but I need all of them to work! Help please

First impressions are good - I'll have to remember to update sometime...

I just got this set as a gift (for myself with my spouse's blessing) and I have to say I am pretty impressed at the start. The pans have heft but not bulk. So I think they will work well on my electric stove and not shift around like my last set of pans did. I like the fit and finish of the product and the (unadvertised) feature of the lids fitting so that every piece of cookware could be covered - assuming you're not using a saucepan and skillet that could share a lid. A major factor for me in choosing this set was the PTFE/PFOA/PFOS-free surface. I was a bit hesitant to get an "as seen on TV" product but these are better (PTFE factor and feel, etc.) than several comparably priced popular brands I researched in stores. I really liked the way the items were packed and shipped. I thought it was interesting that the only branding is on the bottom of the pan; neither the pan handles nor the lids are stamped with the Gotham logo.

Two things I would like to point out on initial review: 1) the fry pans/skillets do not have rolled lips like the saucepans and stock pot. The lips are quite distinctly squared off. I believe this will create an issue when removing items from the pans. Also, I think this is a design problem and it should be remedied. This inconsistent element makes the products look like they are different lines. One of the reasons I decided to go with the set rather than different lines of pans/skillets was for the consistency of appearance. But the different edges are noticeable next to each other on the stovetop. 2) There is no option to purcahse additional sauce pans. It is possible to buy a two pack of skillets. Why not a similar option to purchase either individual items of the set, or a small set (e.g. 1.5 qt. & 2.5 qt. saucepans with lids)?

Also, as another reviewer mentioned, there is a bit of an upcurve on the base of the skillets in particular. This corresponds exactly with the branding mark. I think this is a manufacturing problem of either too much force with the logo placement or improper support during that phase. I think this will cause foods to slide to the edge and may be an issue. Given that this is still an improvement over what I was using, I will probably adapt. I'll try to remember to update my review.

Happy New Year and Bon Appetit!

I would love to but I haven’t had the chance to use them yet. Making big changes to a new home and my kitchen isn’t usable yet.
