Zesty Meatball Appetizers

These Zesty Meatball Appetizers are the perfect party food! Juicy meatballs are simmered in a sweet and tangy sauce made with chili sauce and grape jelly. It’s a classic combination that’s always a hit. Serve these meatballs as an appetizer or as a main dish over rice or noodles. They’re easy to make and even easier to love!
Ingredients:
Meatballs:
- 1 egg, beaten
- ¾ cup soft bread crumbs (about 1 slice of bread)
- ¼ cup chili sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon instant minced onion
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ lb. ground beef
Sauce:
- 2 (12 oz.) jars Heinz chili sauce
- 1 (32 oz.) jar grape jelly
Instructions:
- In a 9 ½" Gotham skillet, heat the chili sauce and jelly thoroughly. Transfer to a crockpot or chafing dish set to low.
- In a bowl, combine egg, bread crumbs, chili sauce, salt, instant minced onion, and garlic powder. Thoroughly mix in ground beef. Shape the mixture into about 30 small meatballs.
- In a 12 ½" Gotham skillet, brown the meatballs slowly on all sides. Continue cooking until the meatballs are done, gently turning to brown on all sides.
- Cook all meatballs and place them in the sauce in the crockpot or chafing dish to keep warm.
