Zesty Meatball Appetizers

These Zesty Meatball Appetizers are the perfect party food! Juicy meatballs are simmered in a sweet and tangy sauce made with chili sauce and grape jelly. It’s a classic combination that’s always a hit. Serve these meatballs as an appetizer or as a main dish over rice or noodles. They’re easy to make and even easier to love!

Ingredients:

Meatballs:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¾ cup soft bread crumbs (about 1 slice of bread)
  • ¼ cup chili sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon instant minced onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ lb. ground beef

Sauce:

  • 2 (12 oz.) jars Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 (32 oz.) jar grape jelly

Instructions:

  1. In a 9 ½" Gotham skillet, heat the chili sauce and jelly thoroughly. Transfer to a crockpot or chafing dish set to low.
  2. In a bowl, combine egg, bread crumbs, chili sauce, salt, instant minced onion, and garlic powder. Thoroughly mix in ground beef. Shape the mixture into about 30 small meatballs.
  3. In a 12 ½" Gotham skillet, brown the meatballs slowly on all sides. Continue cooking until the meatballs are done, gently turning to brown on all sides.
  4. Cook all meatballs and place them in the sauce in the crockpot or chafing dish to keep warm.
